CNR Welcomes Class of 2022 at Summer Orientation
July 20, 2018
More than 300 incoming freshman and their family members were welcomed to CNR on July 19 and 20 for a two days of orientation events. Attendees from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and as far away as Puerto Rico and Texas, enjoyed perfect summer weather at the beautiful CNR Campus as they got to know each other and the College.
“The Class of 2022 was welcomed to campus with plenty of CNR spirit,” says Tiffani Blake, Dean of Students. “We are excited that this great group of students will bring their gifts and talents to our academic community.”
Over the course of the two days, faculty, staff, alumni, and current students joined in the activities, which included a welcome from CNR’s new president, Dr. William Latimer. The students, who will begin their studies in the School of Arts & Sciences and School of Nursing & Healthcare Professions this fall, met with academic advisors, registered for classes, learned about student support services, and had their CNR ID photos taken.
Time was also set aside for fun and mingling at a barbecue lunch, evening pizza party, and ice cream social before the first day was capped off with a DJ dance party in Maura Ballroom. Following breakfast and a fun icebreaker activity in the Wellness Center the next morning, orientation came to a close with students departing campus looking forward to returning in September.
The College looks forward to welcoming additional members of the Class of 2022, who hail from several states and countries, for fall orientation before classes begin on September 5.
