Men's Soccer Qualifies for ECAC Championships for First Time in Program History

The Blue Angel men's soccer team has earned a spot in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) postseason tournament for the first time in program history. The ECAC announced their 2018 DIII Men's Soccer Championship brackets on November 5. New Rochelle will travel to host Drew University on Saturday, November 10 for the first round matchup at 11:00 am.
The Blue Angels wrapped up their regular season with an overall record of 9-7, dropping their final game in the HVIAC Championships against SUNY-ESF in a 2-1 decision. The team looks to extend their season with their postseason selection.
The Drew University Rangers (11-6) earned the overall No. 1 seed in the tournament, which has16 teams competing. New Rochelle earned the No. 4 seed in pod 1, hosted by the Rangers. Grove City College (14-2-4) received the second seed and will take on the third seeded Wilkes University (8-8-1) at 2:00 pm on Saturday. The winners will advance to the quarterfinals on Sunday at noon at Ranger Stadium.
The three other pod hosts for the first weekend are Neumann University, Rutgers-Newark and Stevenson University. The winners of each pod will advance to the semifinal rounds on Saturday, November 17. The semifinal winners will meet for the ECAC title the following day.
