December 4, 2018
The Blue Angel swim teams broke 13 team records on the women's side and three records on the men's side during the 2018 ECAC Winter Open Swimming Championships last weekend.
All five of the women's team relay records were broken by the quartet of Eileen Chia, Daisy Martinez, Lucia Ramirez-Joseph, and Nicole O'Leary. The four swimmers broke the 200, 400, and 800 Yard Freestyle Relays, while also breaking the 200 and 400 Yard Medley Relay records.
Ramirez-Joseph kicked off the meet Friday night swimming a personal best time and a school record in the 1650yd freestyle. During the 66-length race, Ramirez-Joseph also set a school record in the 1000yd Freestyle, taking out at 12:16.70, eclipsing her record set earlier in the season. On day two of the meet, she set the school record in the 500yd Freestyle, going 5:55.20. She wrapped up her individual events going a best time in the 200yd Freestyle.

Kameron Clouser claimed three records in the Breaststroke events, eclipsing previous records he'd set in the 50, 100 and 200 yard events, while also swimming best times in the events. Clouser also swam a best time in the 200yd Individual Medley, going 2:12.12, which is good for fifth all-time in that event. He wrapped up the meet swimming a season best in the 100yd Butterfly event.
Christian Provost broke the men's team record in the 100yd Butterfly, going 55.91 in the event. He then picked up season's best times in the 50 and 100yd Freestyle events, cracking the Top 10 in both of those events as well.

Martinez swam personal best times in the 100 and 200 yard Breaststroke events.
Christian Torres swam season's best times in the 100yd Butterfly, 100yd Freestyle and the 200yd Individual Medley.
Giancarlo Hernandez went personal best times in the 50 and 100 yard Freestyle events.

Hanna Romano swam a personal best time in the 100yd Freestyle.
In his final meet, Marino Castillo swam personal best times in both the 50 and 100yd Freestyle events. Marino was the first member of the men's swim team when the team was created in 2016.
Coach Yearwood had this to say about the meet "I'm really proud of what the team was able to accomplish this weekend. We put forward some great efforts and swam some great times for where we are in the season. Our focus is to come out and train hard for the second half of the season and build some momentum heading into championships in February."
The competitive portion of the season is done for the semester, as the team will return to action in January.
