Graduate Nursing Admissions Requirements

  • Official documentation of an earned bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. Transcripts must be within one (1) year of print date.
  • Current professional resume
  • One essay typed and appended to the application:
    • Describe your goals for graduate study in nursing (include an example from your nursing practice that supports these goals)
  • Two recommendations, preferably from a nursing faculty and a nursing administrator. DOWNLOAD RECOMMENDATION FORM
  • A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above is required.
  • Minimum one year of full-time acute care nursing experience
  • Completion of a basic health assessment course for all clinical tracks
  • Completion of an undergraduate statistics course, completed prior to NUR 684 Design and Methodology for Nursing Research.
  • Applicants with international education are required to have their earned credits evaluated by a NACES member to be comparable to United States standards.
  • Copy of current New York State License
  • Copy of current malpractice insurance required prior to beginning clinical practicum courses
